PROJECT OVERVIEW
MFT hotel was a challenging and complex hotel subsiding in the AUH airport, making it a fitout project into an existing and operational airport. Reality capture was at the core of providing accurate as built. The H hotel on the other hand was a new hotel being built from the ground up and required extensive coordination ahead of time.
THE CHALLENGE
I took over this MFT hotel 3 story project half way through to ensure coordination and alignment between stakeholders including the contractor. The main challenge was to design accurately around the existing which was strategically approached using laser scanning and high level coordination to validate the real as built against the design and existing lease outline drawings. While H hotel required immense coordination during the design process with all disciplines and managing the model was challenging as this was apprixmately a 30 story hotel building.
